Grupo Salta nearly quadruples digital payments in partnership with Bemobi

Moving from the bank slip to digital methods lifts card share to 29% of revenue, while stronger adoption of automatic recurrence makes collections more predictable

Grupo Salta is Brazil's largest K-12 education network. With more than 240 schools across 19 states and the Federal District, including traditional institutions such as Elite Rede de Ensino and Pensi Colégio e Curso, it serves over 140,000 students from early years through high school.

Salta and Bemobi began their partnership in 2024 to digitize and simplify tuition and enrollment billing between the network's schools and the family members responsible for payment. With more payment methods, automatic recurrence and a more fluid journey for families, Grupo Salta now operates with more predictable collections, steadier cash flow, higher conversion rates and lower churn.

“Integrating these solutions lets us raise the experience we give our customers, offering multiple journeys and payment methods in an agile, practical and secure way. The progress also improves on-time payment rates and strengthens the relationship of trust with our users.”

Challenge

Tuition billing relied mostly on the bank slip, or boleto, a very common scenario in Brazilian education. With a single way to pay, the family member responsible had to go through several steps to complete the payment: find the invoice arriving by email or on paper, often unnoticed, and pay manually before the due date. A slow, limited process, with no automation and no reminder, repeated month after month.

For education institutions, at this scale payment stops being an operational detail and starts hitting the result directly. Across a network of more than 240 schools, every late or forgotten tuition payment raises the cost of collections and dunning, increases delinquency and overloads customer service, which has to chase each family. Combined with the bank slip's clearing time, all of this pressures cash flow and reduces each student's LTV (Life Time Value).

When paying takes effort and offers no choice, the family experience loses quality and collections lose predictability.

Solution

To reduce dependence on the bank slip and offer a simple, modern, fluid and secure payment experience, Grupo Salta and Bemobi redesigned tuition and enrollment billing together. The journey was digitized and now rests on four integrated fronts.

With Smart Checkout, an omnichannel, white-label checkout, every family or responsible payer pays in a few clicks and however they prefer: credit or debit card, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay and Click to Pay), with the option to split into up to 24 installments.

Behind the scenes, Payment Orchestration keeps tuition on time effortlessly: automatic card recurrence removes manual payment, and network tokenization keeps the charge valid even when the card is replaced. If a charge is declined, the system retries and can switch to another method, so tuition never stays open. All on its own, with no extra action from the family.

All of this happens inside Agenda Edu, the Super App families already use to follow school life. Tuition is paid in the same place where they check the calendar, the report card and school announcements, with no switching apps and no hunting for the invoice in their inbox.

Behind the operation, Payment Management brings collections, invoicing and payment together with automatic reconciliation and real-time settlement. Less manual work for the finance team and more speed: each new payment method goes live without a new integration project.

For families, tuition became a detail that takes care of itself, in the app they already use, the way they prefer, with no bank slip to chase and no date to remember.

Partnership

The partnership between Grupo Salta and Bemobi began in May 2024 and evolved in cycles. In the first year alone, transaction volume through digital methods grew 126.5%.

In the second cycle, the journey went deeper and became specialized for education, combining Bemobi's sectoral knowledge with the enrollment calendar and the recurring nature of tuition.

More than supplying technology, Bemobi built alongside Salta a journey designed for the K-12 calendar, ready for the network's next steps.

“Integrating these solutions lets us raise the experience we give our customers, offering multiple journeys and payment methods in an agile, practical and secure way. The progress also improves on-time payment rates and strengthens the relationship of trust with our users.”

Results

Digitizing the payment journey translated into direct results for Salta's operation.

~4x transaction volume through digital methods

Between May 2025 and April 2026, transaction volume (TPV) through digital methods grew 293% against the cycle before the partnership began. In the first year of implementation, between May 2024 and April 2025, the increase had already reached 126.5%.

+3x card share of revenue

Driven by automatic recurrence and the move away from the bank slip, the card's share of revenue rose from 10% to 29%. More than swapping payment methods, the shift means convenience for families and efficiency for the operation. With less reliance on traditional channels such as the call center, schools also ease the finance routine, with potential impact on family satisfaction metrics such as NPS.

+15% of tuition on automatic card recurrence

Automatic card recurrence, non-existent in the operation before the partnership, already accounts for more than 15% of tuition collections. In a sector where billing repeats every month, each gain in that penetration means more predictability and less collection effort in every cycle.

Payment stops being collections and becomes competitive advantage

With automatic recurrence established, Salta reduces payment failures and plans collections with far more confidence. In a high-recurrence sector, this lowers the risk of interrupting the student's journey and supports long-term retention, the outcome that matters most to an education institution.

From enrollment to tuition paid on time, billing became a journey that sustains the operation and leaves Salta ready for its next cycles.

“Every sector has its own way of billing, serving customers and measuring results. By combining that sectoral knowledge with an end-to-end payment journey, we help education institutions offer families more convenience and security, while increasing conversion, making collections more predictable and encouraging adoption of automatic payments.”
